The Arab World Internet Institite President, Mr Khaled KOUBAA, participated in the 3rd Meeting of the Arabic Script in Internationalised Domain Names Working Group (ASIWG) on "Global Harmonization of Arabic Script Use in Domain Names" held in Cairo, Egypt, November 8-10, 2008.

The Arab World Internet Institute organized its first consitutional meeting during the ICT4ALL Forum Tunis+3.
The Board of Directors constituted from Arab and International experts will meet during this meeting.

The Arab World Internet Institute become an Observer Member at the Arab Regional ISPs & DSPs Association ( ARISPA ). The institute will collaborate with ARISPA in issues related to the Internet Industry in the Arab World.

The Arab World Internet Institute has been accepted as a Civil Society participant in the UN Global Compact. The GC is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

The Internet Society ( ISOC ) announced election result for its board seats. Khaled Koubaa, who received the highest number of the votes, has been elected for a three year term. Khaled Koubaa is the founder of the Arab World Internet Institute.
